What are peer-reviewed or scholarly journals?

Scholarly journals:

  • are written by experts in the field and are aimed at other experts
  • contain lengthy articles
  • have excellent documentation (bibliographies, reference lists)
  • Language is scholarly or technical
  • Often incorporate the peer review process (although not all scholarly journals are peer-reviewed)
