What are peer-reviewed or scholarly journals?

Scholarly journals:

are written by experts in the field and are aimed at other experts
contain lengthy articles
have excellent documentation (bibliographies, reference lists)
Language is scholarly or technical
Often incorporate the peer review process (although not all scholarly journals are peer-reviewed)
