Faculty and Staff Services

What can Parkland Library do you for? Information about library services and resources.

Schedule a Library Instruction Session

Teaching research skills prepares students to manage the world of information. Librarians work with faculty to create individualized instruction sessions for their classes. We can make suggestions for assignments and recommend appropriate (and available!) resources.

Are you teaching an online class? Contact us about adding a librarian into Cobra Learning.

All library instruction sessions are scheduled by Jane Smith, Instruction Librarian. If you would prefer to contact her directly, please do so via email, phone (217/351-2410) or in person, R234.

If you cannot see the request form below, use this link.

Library Assignment Service

We will provide consultation to help you develop a successful library research assignment:

  • make sure that the information you and your students need can be found through the Library Catalog or other available resources
  • confirm whether specific sources listed on an assignment can be found in the Library or at nearby local libraries
  • recommend putting specific items on reserve at the Main Desk if our resources on the subject are limited
  • test the library research component of the assignment from a user's point of view.

To use the service, contact a librarian at 217/373-3839 or library@parkland.edu.
