OpenAthens: Parkland Library is Implementing a New Authentication System

Redirector Generator

To generate links that can be used with OpenAthens, use this page.

What is OpenAthens?

OpenAthens is the software which allows you log into library resources off-campus.

How does this affect me?

Links to library resources that you have used up to now will no longer work once OpenAthens is launched. You will need to update your resources (Cobra, Syllabi, etc) with new library links.

Links to library databases, journals, articles, and saved searches will all need to be updated.

How do I update my links?

After December 22, simply create a new link using the library resources as you would normally do.

You can also update links manually. Old links begin with an EZ proxy prefix: http://ezproxy.parkland.edu/login?url=

Delete the EZ-Proxy string and replace it with the new Open Athens prefix: https://go.openathens.net/redirector/parkland.edu?url=

How do I get help?

Contact the library!

  • Raeann Dossett rdossett@parkland.edu
  • Librarian on Duty: library@parkland.edu or 217-373-3839
  • EMAIL IS PREFERRED as we continue to work off-campus through spring 2021 semester.
