This website will put citations together for you. You fill in the blanks and it does the rest!
WARNING: Double check it's accuracy. Anything that does the work for you will have mistakes. Nothing is perfect.
This service will do MOST citation styles, for example: MLA, APA, and ACS.
Cite your resources using American Chemical Society (ACS) Style. Here are some websites that should help:
Gutbier, Felix Alexander. Dictionary of Scientific Biography; Scribners: New York, 1972; pp 595-596.
Shen, L.; Zeng, M.; Yang,S.; Zhang, C.; Wang, W.; Feng, Y. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2010, 132, 11481.
NOTE: ACS style usually does NOT contain the article title.
A journal citation must contain:
Online journal articles are cited using the same format as print journals. Add "[Online]" after the journal name. Include inclusive pagination or other identifying information such as DOI number, if available.
Deno, N. C.; Richey, H. G.; Liu, J. S.; Lincoln, D. N.; Turner, J. O. J. Amer. Chem. Soc. [Online] 1965, 87, 4533-4538.
Borman, S. Sucrose Synthesis Sets A Record. Chem. Eng. News [Online] 1990, 78, 52.
Do not include the URL at the top of the page.
ACS Style Guide does not specifically address how to cite a fulltext article accessed from within a journal database such as Academic Search Complete or Science Direct. Here's an acceptable way to do it:
Tator, C; Carson, J. D.; Cushman, R. Can. Med. Assoc. J. [Online] 2000, 162, 787. Available from Academic Search Complete EBSCOhost. http://search.epnet.com (accessed 3/25/04).
Do not include the URL at the top of the page. That URL will NOT take the user to the article.
An ACS journal citation must contain:
