Guide for Intro to African Literature

Books

Reference books can be used in the library. Read them, photocopy pages, or scan pages.

Books in the main stacks can be checked out for four weeks. Take your books to the Desk--be sure to bring your Parkland ID.

Finding Books

On the shelf, look in these areas in both REFERENCE and the MAIN STACKS:

DT2-DT352 (Materials on Africa, such as Africa South of the Sahara, Africa: An Encyclopedia for Students)

GN 301-674 (Materials on Cultures)

HQ 1101-2030 (Materials on Women)

 

In the Parkland Catalog, try a search for:

African Literature                        Sunjata or Sundiata 

Chinua Achebe                           Africa colonization        

 Africa                                          Kane

 

Search Strategies:

Explore different subjects you see as the result of a search.

When you see a book you like, go to that call number area to see other books on the same topic.
