Here are just some of the ways we can help you:
Free One-on-One Writing Help
The Writing Lab is a drop-in service, so there is no need to make an appointment. Sessions typically last 15-20 minutes depending upon faculty availability. For more information on a typical in-person session, click on the Typical Writing Lab Session tab above.
Free Handouts, PowerPoint Presentations, and Videos
The Writing Lab offers all kinds of handouts, PowerPoint presentations, and videos on all kinds of writing topics. To access our materials, click here.
Free School Supplies
The Writing Lab sponsors the School Supplies Pantry where Parkland staff and faculty have donated new or gently-used school supplies such as notebooks, loose leaf paper, folders, index cards, sticky notes, binders, pens, pencils, and highlighters. Just stop by and take what you need. We do ask you be mindful of others and only take what you immediately need. You can always come back for more later.
Online Writing Assistance
The Writing Lab does not offer online writing assistance; we are an in-person service only. The college is investigating other online writing assistance providers, and we will update this section as soon as online writing assistance is available.
