CTC - Digital Literacy: Windows

A collection of resources to help people become more comfortable wth computers and improve their computer skills. There are also links to resources for Parkland students to learn about the software, programs, and platforms students need to be successful.

Windows Introduction

LinkedIn Learning

In this section, you will not only learn about the Windows operating system, but you will also gain experience with another resource available through Parkland College: LinkedIn Learning.

LinkedIn Learning is a website devoted to educational videos, and using it is free for Parkland students, faculty, and staff. These videos are presented as courses—sets of videos addressing a specific topic.

To access LinkedIn Learning videos, you will use your Parkland credentials. Which is to say, you will log in using the same username and password that you use to access Parkland sites, such as email and Cobra.

After logging in, you can browse courses or use the search box to look for specific topics.

When assigned LinkedIn Learning videos for a class, your instructor will probably provide a direct link to the course you are assigned to watch.

Windows

Windows is the name of the operating system most commonly used at Parkland and in business. Other types of computers, such as Macs and Chromebooks, use different operating systems. However, understanding one operating system is useful in learning and using other operating systems.

On LinkedIn Learning, there is a course named “Windows 10 Essential Training.” Click on the link to take the course.
