CTC - Digital Literacy: Microsoft Applications

A collection of resources to help people become more comfortable wth computers and improve their computer skills. There are also links to resources for Parkland students to learn about the software, programs, and platforms students need to be successful.

Microsoft Applications

Microsoft Office refers to a suite (or collection) of software applications that are used in many business and educational settings. It includes many different applications, but we will focus on three: Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

There are two versions of each application. There is a version that is accessed through a web browser, and there is a version that is installed on your computer. The versions that can be installed on your computer have more features than the online versions, but the online versions are still quite powerful and will be adequate for many tasks.

Both versions are available to all Parkland students.

For access to Microsoft 365 applications, click on go.parkland.edu. You may click on the name of the app for access to the web based version or you can install Microsoft Office suite by clicking on the "Install Office" button located towards the top right of the screen.
